We are the Dickman Family. My name is Shannon, and with my husband Tim and our six kids, we are the family, the muscle and the brains behind Vauxhill 928 Ranch and Breeders. This life is a dream for us though also a new adventure too. We have a passion for family, faith and community. It is with this in mind that we built this business.
Our Story
Born and raised in California and Ohio, respectively, my husband Tim and I have been blessed with six unbelievable children (and soon another son added by marriage!) and a lifetime of memories raising them while working with animals. Colorado has always been home to us since our 2006. With an even clearer vision in mind, five years ago, we headed for the country and then started Vauxhill 928 Ranch and Breeders in Elizabeth, CO. Our mission is simple - to provide, as a family, to a community that is so important to us, to breed with ethics and to foster the growth of only the "best of" whether in dogs, in cattle or whatever else we find ourselves raising. We feel overwhelmingly blessed to choose this life and we want to share this journey with you!
How are we different
This was always going to be about family. Our push to move out to Elizabeth was founded on our family learning to work. We have taken that to heart and it reflects in the caliber of our puppies.

My daughters have helped deliver two separate litters of puppies with little to no assistance. Each litter has seen the absolute best care as we have done our best to seek out tested resources that help deliver the most well-rounded and prepared pups for their new families.

By day three, each puppy has started ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) - a kick start to their minds and bodies which prepares them to encounter change without a reactionary response.

After a couple weeks, we are already introducing a wide variety of exposure items and experiences to these puppies. Our aim is to help them experience new things, address it and move on. Sound desensitization is one of my favorite things we introduce. Sounds like dogs barking, doorbells, fireworks, ambulance sirens, thunder and knocking are heard while they are in relaxed states of mind and are soon not even paid attention to.

At the end of the day, we invest countless hours of love and attention to these little ones so that our puppy families benefit from a well prepared and capable companion.

"We purchased Benny, aka Bruce, last week, and he has been such a joy. Bringing him home, I thought he would be nervous to meet his new siblings because they are a lot bigger. Low and behold, he did an amazing. He is probably the most confident puppy I have ever brought home. I believe this is thanks to all the stimuli at the breeders with multiple animals and people since they were raised in the home...the actual house with the family. He is also very smart. We've had him for 5 days now, and has only had 3 accidents in the house and has already mastered the dog door. We are so happy we decided to make Benny a cherished member of our family.
